The Fruit Bowl
Frank and Ina Lucchetti purchased the Ben Sanguinetti Ranch at 8767 East Waterloo Road in the fall of 1945. In early 1947, the Lucchetti's were blessed with their first crop of beautiful Nectar White Freestone Peaches. On the Fourth of July weekend, the peaches at the property were ripe for picking. The San Francisco market didn't want them as they were closing for the holiday. On the advice of a fieldman, they placed a couple of signs on the highway and put up a table on the edge of the ranch. Frank picked the peaches while Ina packed them as the small boys played nearby. People started stopping and they soon sold a few boxes of peaches. In the early years, Ina always had a bowl full of the fruit that was for sale on the table. The fruit from this bowl was given to the customers as samples, so she decided to call their place "THE FRUIT BOWL." Ralph, and his wife, Denene, have taken an active part in growing crops and working at the Fruit Bowl. Ralph and Denene are hopeful that the business will continue to stay in the family for many more years.

The goal remains the same as it has been since 1929: to offer great products and excellent service without exception.

Rustic Bakery - All Bay Area Cafe's (Novato, Magnolia, Larkspur & Tiburon)
Carol LeValley & Josh Harris started Rustic Bakery on a whim in 2005. The couple found their passion for baking in a simple sourdough flatbread cracker that Carol would whip up for friends. They stopped at the San Francisco Ferry Building outlet of Cowgirl Creamery, and mentioned to owners Sue Conley and Peggy Smith that the cheeses deserved artisan crackers. The Cowgirls bit, literally, into a sourdough flatbread and immediately placed an order for 50 cases.
The business has grown to four cafés and a wholesale division with 28 products. Carol and Josh can still remember sitting at the kitchen table, and seeing their first tray of crackers come out of the oven. It was such a thrill.
