United Market

United Markets is more than a grocery store, they are a community of family-oriented people with a deep-rooted history in Marin County and a love for the community they serve that began in 1955 when the Saccone brothers opened the first supermarket in Marin. Because of their passion for great food, it is their mission to provide an abundance of high-quality traditional and specialty grocery items from fresh and local to organic and natural ingredients at an honest value.

Ikeda's

Sam Ikeda, began his humble beginnings as an orchard farmer in Auburn, California. Sam was a hardworking farmer, he was also a smart business man and sought after a way to remove the middle man in his sales. Sam began envisioning a fruit-stand where his fresh produce went directly from the trees of the farm to the shelves of the market.  The idea of Ikeda’s had been created. Soon their two son's, Glen & Steve, ideas would be the driving innovative factor that led to the flourishing business today. To this day, the business is owned solely by the Ikeda's family.  Glen and Steve both manage the two stores in Auburn and Davis.

Woodlands Market

For those who live, work, and recreate in Marin County, most would agree that it is one of the most diverse, idyllic, and visually spectacular places to be in California, if not the world.o its customers, Woodlands has always been a community meeting place, a place to make food discoveries and one to receive service not offered by other grocery store chains. Woodlands Market customers also understand the value of Woodlands’ contributions to local non-profit organizations, particularly those supporting education and schools—a portion of its revenues that grocery stores traditionally spend on advertising.

Andy's Local Market

Nearly 55 years ago, Andy and Katie Skikos settled with their five children in Sonoma County, and opened a small fruit stand on the outskirts of Sebastopol. Andy’s Produce Market evolved into the most prominent open-air produce market in northern California. The family strives to keep the old-fashioned fruit stand appeal while offering a complete selection of organic, natural and specialty food products. All five kids and 19 grandchildren grew up working at the market, where you’ll still see some of them working today. There are even some 4th generation great-grandchildren helping and working during the summers and weekends. All of the employees are considered family at Andy’s, with a handful who have been here for 25 plus years.

The Fruit Bowl

Frank and Ina Lucchetti purchased the Ben Sanguinetti Ranch at 8767 East Waterloo Road in the fall of 1945. In early 1947, the Lucchetti's were blessed with their first crop of beautiful Nectar White Freestone Peaches. The San Francisco market didn't want them so on the advice of a fieldman, they placed a couple of signs on the highway and put up a table on the edge of the ranch.  People started stopping and they soon sold a few boxes of peaches. Ina always had a bowl full of the fruit that was for sale on the table. The fruit from this bowl was given to the customers as samples, so she decided to call their place "THE FRUIT BOWL." Ralph and Denene are hopeful that the business will continue to stay in the family for many more years.

Mill Valley Market

David and Doug Canepa, purchased the business from their father Jim in 1990. Like Jim, they both started working at Mill Valley Market as children. They have continued in their father's footsteps, expanding the store to feature a full deli and commercial kitchen. The goal remains the same as it has been since 1929: to offer great products and excellent service without exception.

In 2020 David's son Ryan Canepa and his friend Abner Chinchilla became co-owners of the business along with David and Doug.

The Canepa family and the Mill Valley Market have been intertwined since the beginning and will hopefully continue that way for many years to come. Doug's son Eugene Canepa also joined the Market as a manager in 2016.

Rustic Bakery - All Bay Area Cafe's (Novato, Magnolia, Larkspur & Tiburon)

Carol LeValley & Josh Harris started Rustic Bakery on a whim in 2005. The couple found their passion for baking in a simple sourdough flatbread cracker that Carol would whip up for friends. They stopped at the San Francisco Ferry Building outlet of Cowgirl Creamery, and mentioned to owners Sue Conley and Peggy Smith that the cheeses deserved artisan crackers. The Cowgirls bit, literally, into a sourdough flatbread and immediately placed an order for 50 cases.

The business has grown to four cafés and a wholesale division with 28 products. Carol and Josh can still remember sitting at the kitchen table, and seeing their first tray of crackers come out of the oven. It was such a thrill.
